Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Yoga is the best laptop (overall) available in India, according to us. This review is going to tell you why we came to this conclusion.
It is a brother to the famous Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon and has almost the same specs as Carbon but turns 360 degrees and can be converted into a tablet and comes with a WACOM stylus (pen) to help you draw and write on the touchscreen.

There are two design variants to this laptop, matte black and silver. Black variant looks refined whereas the silver variant looks sleek. A silver variant might work for you because it does not catch grease or fingerprints.
Thinkpad logo behind looks stylish with its red dot on the letter “i”. There is an ‘X1’ logo on the bottom right side on the lid that looks incredibly soothing.
It has a large bezel below the screen to help with the transition. Its power button is on the side so that you can turn it on and off easily in the tablet mode.
Lenovo X1 Yoga has the most colourful display. The screen itself is anti-glare and the brightness reaches up to 477 nits. This indicates that the Thinkpad can be used for outdoors as well.
The laptop has an amazing 14-inch 1920×1080 pixel Full HD panel. You can watch movies with the best colour depth with ease as shown above in the picture.
If your interests require a lot of movie watching, video editing or photo editing, you would love this laptop. It is a go-to for artists who want screen quality as a priority.
The best thing about the Thinkpad X1 Yoga is that the creators did not sacrifice high-quality specs for convertibility into a tablet. Perfectionism is at its peak here.
It has an Intel Core i7 8550U 8 gen processor, 16 GB DDR4 RAM (maximum) and a Windows 10 Pro (only go pro if your work highly depends on its features). The X1 Yoga won’t hang even if you simultaneously open 10+ chrome tabs with a movie.
It has Intel UHD 620 Graphics so you can play your games on it without issues. Verdict: All of these specs combined outperform many Laptops that hardly have a single spec, let alone all of them.
The Thinkpad Yoga has a 512 GB Flash Memory Solid State Drive (SSD). You can get the cheaper variations of this model with lesser storage space.
Or you may want to upgrade it to 1 TB too to pacify the gamer inside you.
But the present version of SSD works well enough, possibly the best for data transfer. We can easily understand that the creators prioritized speed or else they would have added the older HDD that takes more time in data transfer.
This is where the Thinkpad lacks the most according to most of the users of this laptop. The battery backup could have been a little bit better to make it a perfectly flawless machine.
It has a 4 cell lithium-ion battery that works for a little less than 7 hours while mild internet browsing. For a dominant device made for a heavy workload and high brightness levels, the battery life is ironically lesser than what it is supposed to be
But Lenovo has compensated for this by reducing the charging time. An hour of charge fills the laptop battery by 78%.
The Thinkpad has a fair number of ports on both sides.
On the right side, there is a hole to rest/charge the ThinkPad Pen, a headphone jack, a mini-Ethernet port (requires an adapter), a second USB 3.0 port, an HDMI port and a security lock slot.
On the left side of the Thinkpad, there is a USB 3.0 port and two Thunderbolt 3 ports.
Thinkpad offers the usual Island-style keyboard with a twist. they are curved in shape. Also, the keys retract themselves when you fold the laptop into a tablet so that it feels like a tablet. The keys offer 1.4 mm travel with 65 grams of actuation force.
There is a very smooth red TrackPoint nub between the keys which can be used as an alternative to the touchpad.
The touchpad measures 3.9 x 2.5 inches and offers comfortable two-finger scrolling. The buttons are above the touchpad to help with the functioning of the Trackpoint.
There is a fingerprint reader on the right corner with an advanced match-in sensor.
The WACOM Stylus comes out of the right side dock. The default one has 2048 levels of pressure sensitivity.
It charges inside the dock. Its is very useful while writing notes and drawing and looks handy.
The speakers are of high quality and produce sound amplified enough to fill the room.
They are well spread around the body to provide an unmatched sound. Two of the holes point upwards while converting into a tablet so that you don’t miss out the quality audio features even in the tablet version.
Since you have come up to the conclusion, you really want to know whether the premium amount this Thinkpad variant asks is worthy or not.
The answer is YES. Its specs are a big A in each and every aspect, pretty rare for any premium laptop out there. The crazy thing being high perfectionism.
Lenovo did not let go of performance features to design a 2-in-1 notebook, which makes X1 Yoga a benchmark in itself. You can go for it if you want the most innovative features in your Laptop that aren’t available anywhere else.
Hence it makes the Thinkpad X1 Yoga the best laptop of 2020.
