HP 14 q-CS009TU is a low priced laptop best known for its overwhelming battery life and extraordinarily lightweight body.
Its lightweight body is durable as well, and the performance is mind-blowing considering that it demands a price less than 30000. The audio quality may bother you but why are there Bluetooth speakers and headphones anyway?
Students who require a laptop for internet usage, documents, storing files, installing RAM friendly software, programming, etc. will find this laptop very useful for their money.

The black colour hard plastic body has a matte touch to it and looks classic. It is durable and has a tough built to prevent it from scratches. And the inside of the laptop has a rugged scratchless finish too. It does not look stylish but works great for the long term as compared to a glossy finish.
However, one thing that HP’s low-en laptops tend to do wrong is the bezels. The bezels are big which could have been prevented with changing updates. Old releases generally have big bezels.
The whole body does not flex apart from the middle portion of the lid which can be pushed easily when the lid is closed. Nonetheless, the body is very functional
The 14 Inches screen of HP 14 has a 1366 x 768 HD WLED backlit display. Not bad for a low priced laptop but the bezels could have been shortened to increase the resolution.
The colour reproduction and detail is also not very outstanding but nothing much can be expected from a low-budget laptop. The sRGB on this thing does not even cross 60%, which is alarmingly low if you want to do anything with the display at all.
The screen is very glossy which can affect your experience in two manners:
- Some colours are hard to identify
- The outdoor experience is ruined
There is an Intel i3 7th gen and a 4 GB DDR4 RAM installed. The performance specs in the HP 14 are prone to become outdated soon, though you won’t feel lag if you use the laptop correctly.
The cheaper version has DOS installed, which you can upgrade. The 4 GB RAM can also be upgraded to 8 GB RAM.
For gaming, it is advisable to purchase a dedicated graphics card since the Intel HD 620 graphics are not suitable at all. Medium games like Assassins creed can run but with a low FPS rate.
This HP 14 operates with a 1 TB SATA type HDD. This is enough for storage space so you can put movies and videos here.
Though an SSD is always preferable these days for faster speed. But low-end laptops do not tend to offer an inbuilt SSD and offer an empty slot for the same.
The 3 cell lithium-ion battery runs for about 7 hours while browsing the internet on a moderate brightness.
You can get 4 plus hours of movie watching and about 2.5 hours if you play medium games.
This is enough seeing that the laptop is available in around 30000.
On the right, there is a charging slot, an Ethernet port, an HDMI port, 2 USB 3.1 ports and a headphone jack.
On the left, there is a Kingston security slot, an SD card reader and USB 3.0 port.
The port distribution is not even found in premium laptops.
Keyboard in the HP 14 is island-style without numeric pad. 14-inch laptops are rarely equipped with numeric pads. Spacing is done quite poor in the chassis of this laptop, which makes typing time consuming unless you are a pro. The click sound is very well present. in the keys.
The touchpad is made of plastic and gives multi-gesture support. This means that you can easily use two-finger scrolling and three-finger tap as well with the help of the windows 10 precision drivers.
The speakers are positioned very uniquely on the body between hinges to amplify sound. Audio is not muffled but the amplification may cause distortions in the quality.
Other laptops have better bass quality than the HP 14. Sad to see that these innovative speakers have bad bass quality.
The HP 14 Q CS009TU is with no doubt one of the best low budget and value for money laptops out there. You can trust the build quality and performance, but only for little, text-related activities.
Lack of colours in the display and distortions in the audio are the things that you need to consider before buying this. Overall, it is recommended for students.
