✔ Comes with a fast AMD A6 processor
✔ Great storage space
✔ Better audio quality than its competitors
❌ A very heavy laptop for daily usage
❌ Does not come with an FHD resolution
The Dell Inspiron 3565 is an old school laptop that is still relevant to this date because of its decent performance and great battery life. However, the display is going to make you feel guilty about your decision of buying this laptop.
The AMD processor has been upgraded to A6 to improve efficiency but there are integrated graphics which may ruin your movie/ gaming experience. The overall build and design are durable but look pretty average.
In a nutshell, this laptop is valuable because it demands a price of about 25000, and not a good deal if you can go above that budget.

The overall design is made of plastic, as we can expect from a low budget laptop. It is a pretty old school laptop but long-lasting on the contrary.
Let’s talk about the exterior first, which is matte black and the lid has a glossy black dell logo on it. One annoying thing about the Inspiron’s exterior is that it is a fingerprint magnet. The lid becomes smudgy which smears its look.
The sides are glossy which gives an interesting look to the design. The bezels in the interior are awfully thick. Plus this thing is a little heavy. The most basic version weighs at 2.04 Kg. But older laptops tend to weigh heavier.
You might be thinking that the 15.6-inch screen is big enough for your late-night Netflix shows, but it is actually as depressing as optimistic it seems.
To begin with, the 1366 x 768 resolution rings danger bells, which is primarily because of the fat bezels that cover up the sides like walls. It is the least resolution you can get in a 15.6-inch laptop. The viewing angles still look appreciable somehow.
There is an HD webcam in the middle of the top bezel. It is better for things such as giving video call interviews since other laptops only offer a worse webcam which is pathetic but an add on for the Inspiron.
So there are two variants of the Inspiron distinguished by processors. First is the one with an AMD E2 7th gen and the second one is a faster AMD A6 which was introduced to overcome the slow processing in the E2 version. Hence it is advisable to go for the A6 version.
Other things such as RAM and storage are pretty average. There is a 4 GB DDR4 RAM and a 1 TB serial ATA storage which is nothing more than what you get in other laptops.
Gaming enthusiasts just rolled their eyes when they saw ‘integrated graphics’ in the specs. Well, sadly you cannot enjoy even medium titles without constantly facing issues like lag. Still, you can play the older versions of legendary games like Counter-Strike and Call of Duty at 50+ FPS. Any games that are more powerful than those might run very slow.
But the HDDs are likely to stay relevant for a few years because people buy low budget laptops which become pricey with an SSD. Also, for a layman, an HDD is still moderately fast and stores large files easily.
Battery life is probably the only remarkable thing on the Inspiron 3565. It distinguishes it from even better laptops.
On working with a few Chrome tabs and MS Word in the background and about 100 nits of brightness, the Inspiron gives about 7 hours of battery run time from 100 to 0, which is bizarre considering the fact that similar laptops give somewhere more than half of this.
Anyone who uses their laptop for light tasks but wants to get a good amount of battery life can go for this Inspiron.
Port selection is good in this laptop. As we can expect from a low budget laptop, there are a wide number of connection options on both sides.
The Island-style keyboard has a numeric pad and offers key travel of 1.1 mm, which makes typing just a little bit hard because you do not get that satisfying press at less key travel, but typing becomes habitual afterwards.
The trackpad tries to give a look of modern buttonless trackpads but its quality is still mediocre. Anyways, it responds well to gestures and works with multi-finger scrolling as well.
It may seem like you cannot expect a great audio enhancement and loudness from a low budget laptop, but the Inspiron’s Waves Maxx audio support proves that you can.
Sound is as clear at loud volume as it is at quieter levels. There are no distortions that fumble the audio levels.
If you are still wondering why to go for such an old laptop there are a few good reasons:
- There are a lot of ports so you do not face connection problems
- Audio quality is brilliant
- Battery life is gigantic
But performance, which is the most important aspect of a laptop sucks in the Dell Inspiron 3565 which you need to look out for. At last, this laptop will give value to guys who can compromise on performance and display for good battery life and perhaps an OK typing experience. Rest can check out the link below:
